What you'll be doing
As a founding engineer for Embedded Software and Robotics Systems at Flyer AI, you'll own the embedded software, device integration, coding and testing behind our autonomous VTOL aircraft's digital systems.
In other words, you will help own the brain and nervous system of the aircraft, not just by writing code, but by making that code work reliably on the real devices that fly, sense, communicate and control the vehicle.
Our vehicle is not just an aircraft - it is a complex robotic system integrating microcontrollers, companion computers, sensors, flight-controller links and databus interfaces. We need someone who is comfortable writing robust code for real hardware, working over SSH on Linux-based devices, bringing up and debugging embedded systems, and dealing confidently with interfaces such as CAN, I2C, UART and SPI.
Electrical engineering, robotics hardware, computer vision, RF and flight-controller experience are all valuable, but the core requirement is strong embedded software and systems-integration ability.
A small and focussed team has been developing our prototype aircraft for technical demonstrations and seed fundraising. Now in receipt of significant grant funding, Flyer is expanding the founding engineering team with critical roles.
You will join onsite, working directly with the founder and the expanding team to take Flyer from technical startup to global phenomenon over the next five years.
